Tectia Upgrade

Recommendation from SSH on Tectia product upgrade

As mentioned in admin manual, when upgrading a maintenance release of Tectia Server on Windows, usually no rebooting of the computer is needed. If they customer is using any version older than 6.4.12 currently, reboot is required.

Before starting the upgrade, it's recommended to take backup of the server configuration file, host keys, and user-specific configurations. Please refer to admin manual for more details regarding file locations: https://docs.ssh.com/manuals/server-admin/66/servergs-fileswin.html

If a rollback is necessary, they would need to uninstall 6.6.6 and reinstall the current version they have and restore the configuration files from the backup. If Tectia server is hosted in a virtual environment, they can create snapshot before upgrade and restore the entire server to its pre-upgrade state. Basis steps for rollback are:
- Uninstall 6.6.6
- Reinstall the current version they are using now
- Restore the configuration files from the backup taken before upgrade

When upgrade is completed, customer can perform basic checks such as whether Tectia Server service is up and running, whether connections to the server works, etc to confirm whether Tectia Server functions.
